MEET RACHEL
For the past 10 years, I’ve worked in public relations, social media, and project management. My experience includes serving as a communicator in the higher education, nonprofit, business-to-business, agency and financial services industries.
Over the years, I’ve hired and managed over 30 interns, and I’ve mentored and coached countless young professionals. I also taught at Central Michigan University and am a frequent guest speaker in classrooms, seminars and conferences on the topics of social media, personal branding, career development and public relations.
Through my experiences, I’ve seen that we don’t talk enough about certain challenges and expectations in the workplace. While students and young professionals are graduating armed with theories and case studies, they rarely learn how to negotiate a salary or advocate for themselves at work. As professionals, we also don’t have enough candid conversations about imposter syndrome, burnout and bouncing back from big mistakes.
The Venturesome podcast is my creative outlet for conversation topics I’m already having with young professionals I mentor. It’s a place where I’ll bring on guests and share my own experiences about being fiercely ambitious, brave and curious.
